Des Brown - Youth Pastor

A pastor who hasn’t forgotten how to be a teenager, cool but committed!

Des has worked at Emmanuel Christian Centre since 2002, with a primary focus on 13-19 year olds.

He and his team have developed a packed and dynamic weekly youth meeting on a Friday from 7.30 - 10pm at the Church centre.
The ministry is called “Youth W.A.V.E”; which stands for
Youth With A Vision of Eternity

Des says;
“The youth ministry, like our church, operates around sound biblical purpose. Every thing we do is based on core convictions drawn from the following two scriptures; The Great Commandment, Matthew 22:36-40 and The Great Commission, Matthew 28:18-20.”

This ministry is fast-moving, high energy, high volume, thought-provoking total fun, but a heart impact that many have found explosive!

WARNING: YouthWave could seriously damage your spiritual complacency….can you handle this?

Des Brown, is married to Sheila, and they have four lovely children, two boys and two girls.

Chris Palmer - Children’s Worker

Children have a heart for Chris because he has a heart for them!

Chris says:
“My dream is to touch the hearts and lives of children, to help them build self-esteem and see worth in themselves, to develop skills that will help them become more responsible citizens. And most of all to share my faith in the saving love of God, with them!”

Since June 2002 Chris has started to pioneer children’s work on a local estate in Walthamstow. He is working with a small team of people that have a heart for children, and want to make effective change in the community and has recently established a children’s club on the estate. In addition to this, he has also made contact with the 22 primary schools in Walthamstow. Out of these 13 have responded to his contact, allowing him to takes assemblies on a regular basis.

Chris has been attending ECC since he was 11. He is now married to Rachelle who had also been attending ECC since she was 14. They met at the youth ministry in ECC and are now blessed with two lovely girls, Imogen and Evie.
